Chat transfer between Android and iOS devices will be available soon on WhatsApp

Chat Transfer

WhatsApp will make it easier to move chats between Android and iOS shortly, which has been a long-awaited feature. The messaging app allows you to back up your data to a third-party cloud storage app, but it does not allow you to migrate your chat history from one device to another.

This could change shortly with a new update. If you shift from an iPhone to an Android phone, you’ll soon be able to transfer your WhatsApp conversations.

New Update

According to a new report from WABetaInfo, the messaging app will introduce a chat history migration feature in a future update of Whatsapp, allowing you to move your chat history between devices. The website also posted a screenshot showing that transferring chat history to an Android phone requires the current version of WhatsApp.

When a user wants to connect a smartphone with a different operating system to his WhatsApp account, the user must always upgrade to the most recent WhatsApp update available on the App Store or TestFlight, to prevent any compatibility errors with the Android version, WaBetaInfo reports.

WhatsApp already transfers your account information, including your profile photo, name, about, individual chats, group chats, and settings of Whatsapp, when you switch from iOS to Android or Android to iOS, but it does not transfer your chat history.

New Feature

WhatsApp is also working to add a new feature called “Larger Media Preview.” In other words, the photos you post on WhatsApp will appear exactly as they did when you first posted them, and the app will not crop them. This functionality is included in WhatsApp’s 2.21.8.1 beta update, so anyone interested in trying it out can download the most recent version.

Release date

The exact release date of this feature is currently uncertain. It could come with a feature that allows it to work with various devices. According to the source, this means that you will eventually be able to use WhatsApp on several devices. So you can use WhatsApp not only on the WhatsApp web but the actual WhatsApp on multiple devices

The feature is taking a long time to improve because it will completely change your WhatsApp experience, and a lot of items have been rewritten to be compatible with several devices,
